Welcome

The current installment of the COEC began meeting in 2007.

We are currently on a "break," for no particular reason, and many little reasons - mostly pertaining to life circumstances. If anyone is interested in calling a meeting, feel free to post on the blog, join the google group (see link below) and send an email, or contact either Nancy (nancykj10@yahoo.com) or Jesse (schroeder.jesse@gmail.com) for more information.

To receive cohort emails, join our Google group.

Uh....I don't get it...does this mean you have no question and no memory?

I had trouble posting the video at first, but I think it's working now -

I'm glad you got it to work...I was just kidding by the way.

As to your first question, I would say absolutely yes we would go to that church. As I've said, I don't really believe a "house church" is the best answer. It certainly offers some good things, but it doesn't solve everything. I think it's more important to start a community and invite people into it. If that community already existed I would want to be a part of it.

As to your thought, I agree that we can't get too caught up in the details. I certainly am excited to plan things, but I'm far more excited to actually put the into action. I think that we will need to have a pretty clear idea about the first month or so and commit to acting it out.

Oh, and I had thought we were just calling this group Nick's Super Wonderful Church. Did I not send the memo out about that?

wow the blog is really kicking with ideas and stuff this is great.

My girlfriend just got back from a long missions trip and so I was with her last weekend and will be up in Cleveland again this weekend so I'm really missing out on this house church discussion.

Jesse dude I totally remember making a constitution for our tree house.

Don't have time to write more sorry guys.

Peace

Zack, that's so great that you're getting to spend time with your girlfriend. We miss you and we are really looking forward to catching up with you on all of this.

Hi all. I haven't actually met any of you--I'll make my standard threefold excuse for why I don't have time to show up to interesting things like the cohort meetings: I'm a grad student, a married father of four, and pretty deeply involved with another church in the area--but I occasionally check out this blog and am delighted to see that things seem to be going very well for you folks.

In response to the questions about whether a genuinely emergent church exists in our fair city, I thought I should point out the existence of Ekklesia Columbus. I've never been there, but they at least look like a community that incorporates the best of the emerging church movement. Their website is http://www.ekklesiacolumbus.com/
