Welcome

The current installment of the COEC began meeting in 2007.

We are currently on a "break," for no particular reason, and many little reasons - mostly pertaining to life circumstances. If anyone is interested in calling a meeting, feel free to post on the blog, join the google group (see link below) and send an email, or contact either Nancy (nancykj10@yahoo.com) or Jesse (schroeder.jesse@gmail.com) for more information.

Emergent Christmas Party!

Please come join us for a Christmas party this Saturday, at 7:00, at Scot and Mary's house: 179 Bridgeport Way, Deleware, OH 43015. We will have a white elephant gift exchange, so bring some piece of junk that you've been wanted to get rid of all wrapped up. Seriously, bring a crappy gift. Also, can someone bring Elf or other great Christmas movies?

Please comment below what food and/or drink you plan to bring so that we can cover all of our bases. While you are at it, let's set up some carpools in the comments. Also feel free to invite friends or loved ones (but make sure they also bring a piece of crap to unload).

Okay. I was wondering what white elephant is. I looked it up. As I suspected, it's the same as Dirty Santa (which is what we call it where I come from). Just in case there's some other poor soul who doesn't recognize the term. It's also known as Yankee Swap, Barona Gift Exchange, Thieving Secret Santa, Selfish Santa, Nasty Christmas, Scrooge's Christmas, Rob Your Neighbor, or Thieving Elves.

True Adam, but the key is you do not go out and buy a present. Rather, find something in your house you've been meaning to throw out and wrap it up and bring that.

Hehe. Yeah. I like the way Wikipedia puts it. "... the term white elephant refers to a gift whose cost exceeds its usefulness." I guess plain gray elephants are worth the cost. :)

Mike and I will plan to bring wine and some cheese and crackers.

Really looking forward to it!

I'm really interested to see what Adam is going to bring to eat.

"Mary Queen of Scot" says table service will be provided. She wants to know if paper cups are acceptable for the wine. She will have soft drinks, chicken wings, and a desert of some kind. (If I know her, this will be added to, so be encouraged) There will be beer.

I will be bringing sausage balls. FYI, Kara will not be able to attend. Her debate team has a debate tournament that day.

I'm going to make Guacamole and bring chips. Eve won't be there though she will be spending the day with her mom baking cookies or something.

Mary Queen of Scot said it would be cool if peeps could let her know if they will be here Sat.pm even if they don't know what they will bring food & drink wise. Knowing how many to plan for by noon Sat. would be a big help.

I'll be in attendence and will bring with me some veggies. (because, what good is it if you learn a new recipe, but ADAM makes it!, hehe!)
