Reemerging

Greetings Central Ohio Emergent Cohort, allow me to introduce myself. My name is Nick Johnson and my wife Jane and I are both Ph.D. students at OSU in musicology. We are very interested in getting involved with or starting up a discussion of Emergent issues here in Columbus. We might know a few people that are interested and we wanted to see what is already going on so we can join in, or if nothing is happening right now we can start things up again. We would like to meet sometime in a month or so, and we wanted to give this post some time for people to notice it. If you are interested in being involved, please contact me at johnson.3178@osu.edu. Once we know how many people are interested we will start trying to pick a time to meet either at our place or at a coffee shop or something. We look forward to a vigorous, open discussion about how to follow Christ in the post-modern era.

changing seasons

It is time I posted this on the board. Since last fall I have not been able to run this cohort or get anything going. Part of the problem is I live in Cuyohoga Falls and can't meet people for an hour or two. It takes more like 4 to 5 hours. Someone from the area should pick up the leadership. Email me and I can hand over the blog information. I know there is a continuing interest especially around Colombus my prayer is someone will take this work up. Remember Emergent Village is a friendship were open conversation can happen. Hopefully we can keep this conversation open in central Ohio

As I emailed most of you my wife starts a class this fall on monday nites and I can no longer make mon evening meetings. I have had one response so far. Is there any interest in continue this group? and when is a good time and place to do it?

Okay I am making a commitment to trying to keep up my blog so i am sharing it with you. I know others blog so feel free to post yours here. Mine is spiritualityseeker.blogspot.com I have just started posting my sermons on it. I have found it easier to form my theology by writing sermons. WARNING this blog is not for the faint of heart!

Cohort get together/Aug

Alright folks I was out of town on July 3 but I am back and excited to continue are emergent fellowship.
Lets meet on Aug 7th at 7pm at Damons in Mansfield 490 N Trimble Rd.
If you haven't joined us before but have been thinking about it please come this night as we look at what a new year has for us. There are no requirements just come eat good food, drink good beer, and talk.

We are going to try again in July to talk about Generous Orthodoxy. I need people to tell me when a good time is. The first monday of the month is July 3rd and I am not sure if anyone will be available

Last Night

We tried our new hang out at Damons last evening. Four of us showed up for good drinks and ribs and more conversation. We will meet again on May 01 at Damons.

3. guiding the conversation or recruiting someone

Changing Season

Hey everybody, sorry for the silence the last couple months. I overcommitted myself and am just coming up for air. I would still really like to be part of a Cohort in Columbus, but sadly I can't be the one to organize it with all that is going on right now. Is there someone who would be willing to take on setting up the cohort once a month and communicating it on this blog?
