Here again, the I John 4:12 passage rings true: No one has ever seen God; but if we love one another, God lives in us and his love is made complete in us.

It comes tangentially to another experience, as if you have to aim for something else. Interesting, if dangerous, parallel word study in that sin (you know the etymology: missing the mark) likewise often accompanies, or rather sneaks in and subsequently distorts, the pursuit of something good. One of the goals I believe of a generous church is to not focus less on the actions we are taking themselves, and more on whether or not those actions bring along a "liminal" experience of holiness instead of a veering off the mark towards sin.

Perhaps this is also why the emergent conversation is so difficult to pin down coherently. It really comes along side of all of these other things and yet isn't really the goal at all.

For now, I embrace "Communitas" in hopes for the super. Super-fun too.

I'm excited to hear from everyones ordeal in the wild, I mean Christmas time with family and friends and look forward to growing along side you in months to come.Andrewhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15606455994642639740noreply@blogger.com
