Welcome

The current installment of the COEC began meeting in 2007.

We are currently on a "break," for no particular reason, and many little reasons - mostly pertaining to life circumstances. If anyone is interested in calling a meeting, feel free to post on the blog, join the google group (see link below) and send an email, or contact either Nancy (nancykj10@yahoo.com) or Jesse (schroeder.jesse@gmail.com) for more information.

To receive cohort emails, join our Google group.

Celebration of the Faithful

CANCELLED

It's our turn to host the C.of F. this Sunday and as has been the case lately once again the logistics are challenging. Lots going on for various cohort attendees and to be honest the economy impacts peoples mobility as well.

We are up to hosting but would like to hear from whoever is considering coming before we invest the preparation needed. Just being practical :/

Sunday @ 5pm
179 Bridgeport Way
Delaware, OH 43015

If we scrub the C.of F. perhaps there is the option to do something at the hospital so as to include the Schroeders...wouldn't have the same "edge" but would be community-ish:). Totally their call of course.

love to all
Scot

If you need directions or address, please let me know.

Hope to see you there,

The Semicolon

This came in the MINemergent daily email, and I really liked it.

------

In praise of the semicolon

In Praise of the Semicolon
Never put a period,
or colon or even a comma
where God put a semicolon.

Unlike the settled-
before-its-time
period

or the colon's
invitation to see all
possibilities

or the exclamation point's
screaming, insistent
finality

or even the lighthearted
comma with its
sabbath pause

the outrageous
semicolon holds
us in the middle

without yielding to one
thing or the other.
It's so easy to get lost

along the way where
there is so much
pushing and pulling.

God I believe;
Help my unbelief.
Amen; Life.

Secret Message of Jesus book discussion

POSTPONED. We will reschedule this event.

I hope everyone can come the the discussion on this book. I found it very good and it helped me to realize that I wasn't so far off the mark afterall! I have three books for anyone who does not have one.

There are discussion questions and guidelines in the book, so this will help keep the conversation somewhat organized. But, we can go off on our own tangents if we want. We can see what everyone thinks about how to proceed with conversation on this book. One idea would be to keep it going on the Blog site. Something like a book conversation is difficult to attempt for one evening and I doubt that everyone would want to schedule a discussion for several weeks. Then again, maybe you would. Anyway, we can keep that open and see what happens.

The discussion will be at Adam and Kara Newby's house on Sunday. If would be a good idea to have an idea of how many are going to be there. So, let me or Kara know, OK? My phone is 505-7410.
